Talks in aid of the Gurkha Welfare Trust
The Gurkha Weslfare Trust supports approximately 10,500 ex-soldiers, and their dependants, who have no military pension. The Trust pays a pension of approximately (depending on exchange rates) £29 per month - enough to provide the basic food necessary to survive.
Medical bills are also paid, and clinics are held in the hills.
Every Gurkha soldier gives a day's pay a year to the Trust, and most of the admin costs are borne by the Ministry of Defence.
